With today’s technology and social media, planning a party has become a little easier. That came very handy when my daughter Tash’s maid of honor- Jessica, bridesmaids- Marian, Brittany and Jeni, (most of whom live out of town) started planning and organizing her bridal shower, through group messaging and phone calls. Of course, me, the florist mother of the bride, (sorry, I can’t help not to!) offered to have it at our home and help with details. After all, that’s what I do!

The girls sent out E-vites and kept me updated with the guest count. While they took care of games, prizes, and other details, my sister- Bambie, bestie- Theisa and I took care of the menu, desserts and décor. We decided on having something light and an easy menu to prepare for the afternoon party such as finger foods, salad, charcuterie plate, crudité platter and chicken salad and pulled pork sliders.

The dessert table had a variety of goodies like fruit tarts, rice cakes, fresh fruits, etc. I was feeling a little sentimental, helping plan a bridal shower for my only daughter, so I thought I would surprise her with a “Barbie cake”! She had that when she was five, which seemed like it was only yesterday and it brought back sweet memories! I also got her some cookies as party favors, some in the shape of our 3 dogs, as requested by her, to remember Chinky and Buzz- their first pet dogs, and Ari, our now pet boxer. These awesome cookies and Barbie cake were custom made for me by Natasha of thewhiskfultable.

For the afternoon activity, before the games started, we had fun being creative. I showed them how to make floral crowns, and everyone had a great time!
It was such an amazing afternoon of good food and drinks, great company making new memories. Adding a “Flower Crown Making” activity on top of the fun games made the shower even more delightful! By the end of the day, everyone was excited to show off their floral crowns. Thanks to my friend Mireya, of Photo Stories by M, for capturing so many fun and sweet moments celebrating love and friendship, surrounded by flowers and music, while toasting and wishing the best to Tash as she prepares her future with her soon to be husband, Evan.
